1st & 2nd Grade Class

Our first and second grade classroom is a busy, busy place! We are studying the sounds the letters make, as we learn new words in the first grade. Second graders are practicing and getting better and better at their reading, drawing on what they learned in first grade.

This month we went on a field trip to Stuckey’s Apple Farm. Here is as story that the first graders wrote for English class about our trip:

"The Apple Farm" -- We visited the apple farm. First we saw apples getting washed. They squeezed them to make apple cider. They squished the peelings and stems. Then we went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch. The teacher picked a pumpkin for our class. We got apples and cider. We ate lunch at the park. It was a fun day!
