A Journey to Bethlehem
Journey to Bethlehem comes each December as a walk-through, live
re-enactment of the nativity. Guests gather in Biblical groups and journey with
their clan in search of the Baby King. Vile King Herod threatens the baby,
wisemen set out to follow the star, angels sing, and finally the group reaches
the crude shelter and young Benjamin, the shepherd boy, offers a precious gift.
Over 100 costumed characters re-enact the timeless story
and bring Biblical village life to visitors. Enjoy the aromas of simmering
stew, pet the town horses, visit the woodcarvers, or chat with a
shopkeeper. After the tour a cup of hot chocolate awaits each guest.
This is a walking tour, so warm clothing is advised. Those
unable to walk well can still enjoy the village or sing Christmas carols in
the church sanctuary. For more information call the church office at
317-984-4860. This special event is provided free of charge as a gift to
our community.
